Form a Prayer Group to Pray for America

Flag

America is on the verge of financial collapse regardless of what the stock market says. We are in the worst moral decline that we have ever been in as a nation. Our government is entrenched in scandals. Many of our churches are in a decline or have closed their doors. There is only one hope for America and that hope is Jesus Christ.

If we want to see America revived, then we must pray for revival. In the past awakenings the kind of prayer that moved the heart of God was fervent prayer from righteous men and women. The lazy prayers we pray as we drift off to sleep at night are not enough to bring revival. The prayer for revival must be a definite prayer for revival. One of my favorite verses in the Bible on revival is the following:

“When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place” 2 Chron 7:13-15 (NKJV).

My paraphrase of this verse is as follows: When we see drought, destructive insects and disease among the people, it is time for God’s people (plural) to confess their sins, pray and seek God’s face, and turn from all wicked ways, then God will hear our prayers for revival and heal our land.

If we want spiritual awakening in America, we are going to have to form prayer groups, confess our sins and pray for revival. There is no other way, but God’s way when it comes to revival. The question is, “Do we really want revival?”

Please form a prayer group today. Let Prayer in Every City know if you are praying for America. (prayerineverycity@gmail.com)
