4 Blood Moons, Passover and Tisha B ‘Av

What do the 4 Blood Moons, Passover and Tisha B ‘Av have in common? There has been much attention in the media given to the first blood moon, which occurred last night at the beginning of Passover. Many are wondering if God is trying to send us a message or is this just another end-time money making scandal? I have recently read John Hagee’s book called 4 Blood Moons, Something is about to Change. I have also read many of the comments that readers post on news sights regarding this phenomenon. Some people believe that John Hagee is trying to make money off these events, while others agree with Him that God is sending us a message. No matter which view you take, you cannot deny the facts that are mentioned in his book regarding the history of blood moons. One of these facts has to do with the expulsion of the Jews from Spain in 1492. This is a very interesting year in that Christopher discovered America, but there is a little known fact of what happened to the Jews in Spain in 1492 and the day this event took place.

The day that the Jews were forced to leave Spain by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella was the 9th of AV of 1492 (better know as Tisha B ‘Av by the Jews). The edict of expulsion was signed on July 31, 1492, the expulsion took place on Aug. 11, 1492 (Tisha B’Av) and Christopher Columbus set sail for America on Aug 3, 1492. After these events, there were 4 Blood Moons. According to John Hagee, these dates were as follows: Passover, April 2, 1493, Feast of Tabernacles, September 25, 1493, Passover, March 22, 1494 and Feast of Tabernacles, September 15, 1494 (p. 184). I have studied the Jewish feasts for years, before John Hagee wrote this book. I am amazed throughout history that God does things on His feast days.

Now let’s take a closer look at this holiday I am referring to called Tisha B’Av, which is the national day of mourning for the Jews. Many horrible events have happened to the Jews on this day. Here is a timeline of events that have occurred on 9 Av:

TIMELINE

1. Numbers 14 – Exodus Generation Condemned to Die in Desert (1312 BCE)
2. Both the temples were destroyed on the 9 Av (the first in 586 B.C. and the second in 70 A.D.)
3. Fall of Betar (133 C.E.) 580,000 Jews died by starvation or the Sword
4. The Jews of England were expelled by the King Edward 1 on this date in 1290.
5. The Jews of Spain were expelled by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella on the 9^th of Av of 1492, terminating many centuries of flourishing Jewish life in that country. (Aug. 11, 1492) Note: Christopher Columbus set sail for the New World on Aug 3, 1492.
6. AMIA Bombing (1994) – Arab terrorists exploded a bomb in the Jewish community center (AMIA) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, killing 86 and wounding 1201 in the most lethal attack against any Jewish community since the Holocaust.
7. 2005 – all Jews had to be out of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank by 9 Av. Pull out by force would begin on 10 Av

The most interesting event to me from this timeline was the 9th Av, 2005 (August 15, 2005) where the Jews had to leave the Gaza Strip and the West Bank due to a peace treaty signed by Ariel Sharon. This peace treaty was called the “Road Map to Peace” and it divided Israel. After Sharon had signed this treaty, the final day of expulsion was on Tisha B’Av. Many of the Jews could not believe that their final day in these areas would be the day of mourning. Now something very tragic happened to the US in 2005. I am sure you all remember Hurricane Katrina. Hurricane Katrina formed on Aug. 23, 2005, just a few weeks after this event in Israel. It hit New Orleans on August 29, 2005, which was two weeks after the expulsion of the Jews from Israel. God has something to say in the Bible about dividing the land of Israel.

“I will also gather all nations, And bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat; And I will enter into judgment with them there On account of My people, My heritage Israel, Whom they have scattered among the nations; They have also divided up My land” Joel 3:2 (NKJV).

“Thus he shall act against the strongest fortresses with a foreign god, which he shall acknowledge, and advance its glory; and he shall cause them to rule over many, and divide the land for gain” Daniel 11:39 (NKJV).

 

Many people would believe that these events are just coincidences, but it happens too often to just be a coincidence. The year of 2005 was one of the most active hurricane seasons that we have seen. Not long after this peace treaty, Ariel Sharon suffered a massive stroke on Jan. 4, 2006. He just died on Jan. 11, 2014, but never really regained consciousness.

I am not saying that anything big will happen over the next two years, but my eyes and ears are open because I believe that God does things on His feast days.
