National Day of Prayer – May 1, 2014

National Day of Prayer bus

The next National Day of Prayer will be May 1, 2014. Please check their website for a location to pray in your area, National Day of Prayer.   I had the privilege of meeting the members of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, including Shirley Dobson, this past summer as they toured the United States promoting this event. They all have a desire to see Revival and Spiritual Awakening for America.

The National Day of Prayer began in 1952 by a resolution passed by the U.S. Congress and signed by Harry Truman. There is much controversy over this national holiday so do not waste an opportunity to participate in this even, whether it be in your home or a sponsored event. How sad that atheists try to impose their views on everyone. If they do not wish to participate in prayer on this day, then that is their choice, but to try to prevent everyone from doing this shows intolerance on their part. The very ones to preach tolerance are the ones who are intolerant when an issue opposes their point of view.

Please pray for Revival and Spiritual Awakening for America. We have turned from our Christian roots as a nation, which has resulted in high crime and unashamed sin. The official National Day of Prayer prayer guide, which can be purchased from their website, uses the 7 Areas of Influence as their outline for prayer. These areas are Government, Military, Media, Business, Education, Church and Family. Please pray for each of these areas whenever you pray for America. If you cannot find an official location to pray on this day, then form your own prayer group to pray for our nation. You can find Prayer in Every City prayer guides for free on this blog.
