10 Reasons We Are Living in the End Times

clockIf you know anything about end-time prophecy in the Bible, you recognize that Bible prophecy is unfolding before our eyes. There are many scoffers who do not wish to think about these events. They believe that if they ignore the signs, the end will not come. Even those who believe we are living in the end-times, still live as if the world will go on forever. The church must wake-up so she can be prepared for Christ’s return. We hear so much about healthy living. People want to be thin and fit, but according to the Bible spiritual fitness is far more profitable that physical fitness.

“Discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come” 1 Timothy 4:7-8 (NASB).

If Christ returned tomorrow, are you ready? I am not trying to set a date for Christ’s return, but the Bible says the rapture can happen at any time. It could happen in the twinkling of an eye!

10 Reasons We Are Living in the End Times

1. Israel Became a Nation in a Day.
The end-time countdown began on May 14, 1948 when Israel became a nation after 1,878 years of being scattered all over the world.

“Therefore prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Behold, O My people, I will open your graves and cause you to come up from your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. “Then you shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O My people, and brought you up from your graves” Ezek 37:12-13 (NKJV).

“Before she was in labor, she gave birth; before her pain came, she delivered a male child. Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in one day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, She gave birth to her children” Isaiah 66:7-8 (NKJV).

2. This generation will not pass until all these things take place.

Jesus said that once Israel became a nation, that He would return in that generation. There is speculation as to what Jesus meant by generation. Many believed that a generation was 40 years, so many suspected the Lord would return in 1988. Obviously, that didn’t happen. Others believe that a generation is defined as 70-80 years according to what Moses said in Psalm 90:9-10. If that is true, the Lord could come as soon as 2018. I personally believe that this prophecy can be fulfilled as long as only one person is still alive from the generation who saw Israel become a nation. This person could live as long as the Lord needed for the prophecy to be fulfilled.

“For all our days have passed away in Your wrath; we finish our years like a sigh. The days of our lives are seventy years; and if by reason of strength they are eighty years” Psalms 90:9-10 (NKJV).

“Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near.33 “So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near–at the doors!34 “Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place” Matt 24:32-34 (NKJV).

3. Every nation who surrounds Israel will be against them. Iran wants to wipe them off the face of the earth.

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem.3 “And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it” Zech 12:2-3 (NKJV).

“They have said, “Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more.” For they have conspired together with one mind; against You they make a covenant” Psalms 83:4-5 (NASB).

4. People will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits, forbidding to marry, abstaining from eating meat.

I can sum up the fulfillment of this verse in two words: the Millennial Generation. Over 70 % of the Millennial Generation, born from 1980-2000 leave the church after they leave high school. This generation has been exposed to all false religions of the world including yoga (Hinduism), Buddhism, New Age, Muslim and everything else. They refuse to marry, but would prefer to have many sexual partners and there are more vegetarians living today than ever before.

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, 2 speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, 3 forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods (meat) which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth” 1 Tim 4:1-3 (NKJV)

5. People will be eating, drinking, marrying, buying and selling. In other words, they are too busy about their own lives to pay attention to the signs of the end.

Today, people are involved in countless activities. They are so busy with their own lives, that they do not have time for others.

“And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man: 27 “They ate, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all. 28 “Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 “but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.30 “Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed” Luke 17:26-30 (NKJV).

6. There will be an increase in wars, famines and earthquakes.

According to the U.S. Geological Earthquakes Survey, there has been a tremendous increase in earthquakes over the past few years. In the year 2000 there were 19,131 earthquakes, in 2010 there were 23,040, in 2012 there were 19,492, in 2013 there were 89,622 and so far this year we have seen 82,324. There have been several devastating earthquakes in the past few years: Indonesia 2004, Haiti 2010, Nepal 2015. Let’s also not forget the 2011 Tsunami in Japan.

Many states have experienced drought over the past few years, with California suffering the most. If you watch the news at all, you don’t have to be reminded of all the wars which have occurred over the past 100 years.

“And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. “For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. “And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. “All these are the beginning of sorrows” Matt 24:3-8 (NKJV).

7. There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars, distress of nations, seas and waves roar.

This is a later sign of His coming, but we see some of this happening now. We have 4 blood moons occurring on Jewish Feast days and much distress of nations. There have been many devastating hurricanes and tsunamis, including Katrina and Sandy. Don’t forget the tsunamis in Indonesia and Japan.

“And there will be signs in the sun, in the moon, and in the stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; “men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of heaven will be shaken.27 “Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.28 “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” Luke 21:25-28 (NKJV).

“I will show wonders in heaven above and signs in the earth beneath: blood and fire and vapor of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD” Acts 2:19-20 (NKJV).

8. In the end their will be an increase of knowledge, while many run to and fro.

This one is so obvious that I don’t even need to comment.

“But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase” Dan 12:4 (NKJV).

9. Battle of Gog alliances lining up to attack Israel.

See my post Ezekiel 38-39: Battle of Gog of Magog for more information.

“Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “On that day when My people Israel dwell safely, will you not know it? “Then you will come from your place out of the far north, you and many peoples with you, all of them riding on horses, a great company and a mighty army. “You will come up against My people Israel like a cloud, to cover the land. It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes” Ezek 38:14-16 (NKJV).

10. Israel preparing to rebuild the temple. Birth of the red heifer.

To learn more about this, visit Temple Institute.

“This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD has commanded, saying: ‘Speak to the children of Israel, that they bring you a red heifer without blemish, in which there is no defect and on which a yoke has never come. ‘You shall give it to Eleazar the priest, that he may take it outside the camp, and it shall be slaughtered before him; ‘and Eleazar the priest shall take some of its blood with his finger, and sprinkle some of its blood seven times directly in front of the tabernacle of meeting. ‘Then the heifer shall be burned in his sight: its hide, its flesh, its blood, and its offal shall be burned. ‘And the priest shall take cedar wood and hyssop and scarlet, and cast them into the midst of the fire burning the heifer. ‘Then the priest shall wash his clothes, he shall bathe in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp; the priest shall be unclean until evening. ‘And the one who burns it shall wash his clothes in water, bathe in water, and shall be unclean until evening. ‘Then a man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and store them outside the camp in a clean place; and they shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for the water of purification; it is for purifying from sin. ‘And the one who gathers the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until evening. It shall be a statute forever to the children of Israel and to the stranger who dwells among them” Num 19:1-10 (NKJV).

Jesus will return soon! I hope you are ready. Don’t be like the 5 foolish virgins who were not prepared for the bridegroom (Matt. 25:1-13). The Bible says there will be many scoffers in the last days (2 Peter 3:3-4). Don’t be one of them!

  1. another verse that comes to mind when thinking of last days is in 2Timothy 3:1-5- Lovers of themselves, abusive, ungrateful, brutal, etc….. with all the murders in Baltimore and other cities. love has grown cold.
glad to see God gave you inspiration to write

  2. In #4 above, it also occurred to me the verses could be a continuation of a “doctrine of demons,” such as I think “forbidding to marry” goes with along with the false doctrine of Catholicism. They forbid nuns and priests to marry. They want parishioners to confess to priests rather than Jesus. They dress the Pope ornately and mass is a very extravagant affair – which goes along with the “hypocrisy” part. They also celebrate Lent, which is when people usually give up certain “forbidden foods.” One whole half of my family is Catholic and I’ve had some time to study how so much of this doctrine is completely false and not biblical. Recently Pope Francis declared that having a personal relationship with Jesus is “dangerous” (just do a search on YouTube and you’ll find footage). If that’s not doctrine of demons, I don’t know what is.
