Boot Camp 101 – Witness Wednesday
Thank you for joining us for Witness Wednesday. Every Wednesday I will give you a witnessing challenge. If we are going to win the lost and see revival and spiritual awakening, then we have to start telling people about Jesus. According to George Barna’s research, Evangelism is Going Out of Style. With church attendance among the Millennials dwindling, we cannot afford to quit sharing the gospel message.
Weekly Challenge
This week’s challenge is easy. I want you to buy some gospel tracks, but not just any track. Revival preachers used the law, the 10 Commandments, when presenting the gospel to bring about conviction to the sinner’s heart. Charles Spurgeon and Ray Comfort use this same pattern in evangelism.
“When preaching and private talk are not available, you need to have a tract ready…Get good striking tracks, or none at all. But a touching gospel tract may be the seed of eternal life. Therefore, do not go out without your tracts.” – Charles Spurgeon
“There are many tracts available. However, make sure they contain the whole counsel of God. The most popular of tracts fails to open up the Moral Law as Jesus did, to mention the fact of Judgment day, or the reality of Hell. Instead, they promise a wonderful new life in Christ. The promise is one of happiness rather than righteousness.” – Ray Comfort.
I am a big fan of the ministry called “The Way of the Master”. I use their gospel tracks all the time because they use the Law when sharing the gospel message. This is the way that Jesus did it and the way the great preachers of revival did it. If you have not read my posts on the “Keys to Revival”, you may wish to take a look at them. The Bible says that the “law is the schoolmaster to bring them to Christ” Gal. 3:24. This verse is the key to revival preaching. Many of our modern ministers do not like to preach on sin at all because they believe that it will cause people to not come to their meetings. This is a lie from Satan because the teaching of the law is necessary to bring about revival. If you have not read the “Keys to Revival”, then click on them below to check them out.
