Do You Understand the Times We Live In?
“Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do” 1 Chronicles 12:32 (NASB).
Do you understand the times we live in?
Jesus warned the church of Sardis to wake up.
“To the angel of the church in Sardis write: He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars, says this: ‘I know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. Wake up, and strengthen the things that remain, which were about to die; for I have not found your deeds completed in the sight of My God. So remember what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent. Therefore if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you” Revelation 3:1-3 (NASB).
We are living in a day where everyone is playing in America. We are busy going to sporting events, church functions, vacationing and working. Jesus said to expect His return when everyone is busy running to and fro.
“For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be” Matthew 24:37-39 (NASB).
There is so much going on in the world, that we need to take note and look up to the Lord. We see disease epidemics, wars, earthquakes, drought, odd weather patterns and blood moons. All of these were warning signs for the end times in the Bible.
What should we do?
The sons of Issachar in 1 Chronicles 12:32 not only understood the times which they lived in, but had knowledge of what Israel should do. What should we as Christians do, because we see the signs of the times? Do we panic? Do we sell all that we own and head for the hills? No, we put our trust in Jesus Christ who promises He will never leave us or forsake us. For the next few weeks, I will post ways to prepare spiritually for such a time as this. Those who put their hope in the Lord, will be able to stand firm during the evil day.
