10 Prayers for the New Year

spiritual-renewal5.jpgWow! I can’t believe how fast 2013 has flown. Many will ring in the New Year tonight as I sleep in my bed. I gave up ringing in the New Year years ago.

On Sunday I posted “10 Biblical New Year’s Resolutions”, which has been very popular. I hope that my readers will take serious consideration into trying to implement these resolutions into your lives. We desire for the world around us to change, but we have to realize that change must begin with us. If we want Revival and Spiritual Awakening in America, we can have it at anytime. You can have revival in your life right now without waiting for the rest of America. If you are looking for a fresh start, a new beginning, then take a leap of faith and join me for a month of Spiritual Renewal. I will guide you through your journey step by step. We will not try to make 10 changes over night, but I will slowly show you how to walk a deeper Christian life. If you have ever asked yourself, “Is there more to life that this?” , then take this journey with the Lord. How do I know all of this? I have taken this journey myself over the past 8 years. I know what it is like to walk a feeble Christian life full of fear and boredom, but now that I have walked the deeper life I never want to return to the dull life I had before. Many missionaries have found this deeper life and we will learn from them. If your ministry is lacking power, then I encourage you to take the plunge and spend a month on Spiritual Renewal.

We will begin our journey into Spiritual Renewal with this prayer of surrender. If you wish to walk in the Spirit, there can only be one head. You are no longer the head, but you will surrender your life to the Lord. This might sound scary, but God knows the past, present and the future. Who will do a better job at the lead? You or Him? The following prayer is your prayer of hope and change for 2014. This change will not come from the government, a doctor, your church or your job. It will only happen when you decide to move forward with the Lord and change. If you want to walk this journey with me and the Lord, then pray this Prayer of Spiritual Renewal. Warning: Do not pray this prayer to the Lord if you don’t mean it. If you can’t pray this prayer at this time, then pray that the Lord will give you the strength to pray this prayer in the future. The following verse should be your motto this month:

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me:
and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of
God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 (KJV)

Prayer of Spiritual Renewal

Heavenly Father, I come to you humbly to surrender my life to you. Please forgive me when I have wanted to be in control of my life rather than letting you take control. This month I want to commit to making some changes in my life, but my willpower is weak. Please give my Your strength to make these changes in my life. I desire to make the following changes:

1. I will set aside some time every morning for prayer.
2. I will study a book of the Bible this month.
3. I will memorize at least one scripture verse this month.
4. I will exercise at least 3 times a week.
5. I will eat healthier this month.
6. I will read a book on prayer this month from a missionary who was successful in his/her ministry.
7. I will think twice before I spend money on anything wasteful.
8. I will do something nice for someone every week.
9. I will use the money that I saved and give it to someone less fortunate than me.
10. I will pray for wisdom.

I know that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Please help me to stop being lazy, turn off the television and start making strides in my spiritual walk. Help me to realize that I cannot change if I am not willing to change. My spirit is willing, but my flesh is weak so please strengthen me. In Jesus Name, Amen.
