Freedom Friday – Prayers for America
It’s another busy Friday afternoon. Many people will enjoy the cool weather at a local high school football game this evening. Even though this is a busy time of year, we must always take the time to pray. Prayer and Bible study should be our top priority. I like to pray in the morning because my day just goes a little better when I do. If we are going to seek God’s guidance through prayer, we should do so early in our day.
I am going to pray a short prayer for America:
Lord, we praise Your Holy Name. Let us not forget Your holiness and your grace. We thank you for allowing us to live in this great country where we have freedom to worship as we please and can pray without restraint. Please forgive us because we have allowed our freedom to cause us to be lazy. Forgive Your church for lack of prayer and evangelism. We pray that You will raise up prayer warriors and evangelists to preach Your Word. We pray that our preachers will preach the Word in season and out of season and that they will reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction (2 Tim 4:2). Please forgive Your church because we many won’t listen to sound doctrine and want to have their ears tickled (2 Tim. 4:2). Lord, keep Satan from destroying Your church and deceiving Your people as well as those who are lost. We pray for a hedge of protection around Your people. Please do not allow Satan to steal the seeds which have been planted in the hearts of the lost. We pray for an awakening in Your church so that we will complete the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20) as You have commanded. Send laborers into the streets and the marketplace. We need people who are willing to go outside the walls of the church to share their faith. Give the Christians boldness to share their faith without fear. We pray for a softening of the hearts of the lost in America. Please do not remove Your hand from our nation and give us more time to repent. We want to stand in the gap for our nation. In Christ’s Name, Amen.
