School of Prayer Saturday – Teacher’s Prayer
Welcome to the 2nd School of Prayer Saturday! It’s that time of year again where kid’s start school. Summers are getting shorter every year. Even if you children are grown or you have not had children our schools need your prayers. We need to pray for protection over the children and teachers in all schools of America. Many of us think to pray for our own children or grandchildren, but let’s not forget our teachers. This prayer was written by a good friend of mine who teaches elementary school. She invited teachers to pray with her and was surprised to have 25 show up. Praise the Lord for Christian teachers. Please pray for all the schools in America.
Pray for a fresh perspective each day. “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me” Psalms 51:10 (NKJV). “This I recall to my mind, therefore I have hope. Through the LORD s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness” Lam 3:21-23 (NKJV).
Pray that teachers would see each child’s strengths and potential to learn in their unique way. “Train up a child in the way he should go, And when he is old he will not depart from it” Prov 22:6 (NKJV).
Pray for teachers to have patience, understanding and encouragement for students, parents and coworkers. “Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all” 1 Thess 5:14 (NKJV). “Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers” Eph 4:29 (NKJV).
Pray that teachers will not get discouraged. “Be strong and of good courage, and do it; do not fear nor be dismayed, for the LORD God–my God–will be with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you” 1 Chron 28:20 (NKJV). “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart” Gal 6:9 (NKJV).
Pray that teachers will not be anxious or fearful to face hard situations. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” 2 Tim 1:7 (NKJV). “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” Phil 4:6-7 (NKJV).
