Please pray for the Thailand soccer team trapped in a cave since June 23, 2018. I have been heavily burdened to pray for these boys since I heard of the story a few days ago. Ever since I have continued to check the news stories for updates. The boys are trapped by flood water deep within the cave. There only hope for escape is to either wait out the monsoon rains for up to four months or scuba dive out. Many of the boys don’t swim so either option is a dangerous one. The Thailand government is in a race against the weather to decide what to do. Waiting could be disastrous if the chamber where the boys reside floods. However, the chances of panic are high with the inexperienced boys trying to scuba dive out through narrow tunnels filled with muddy, rapids of water.
Even though the situation seems hopeless, there is always hope through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thailand is considered an unreached people group with only 1.3% of the population professing Christ according to the Joshua Project. The main religion of Thailand is Buddhism. I have seen many photos of people praying to Buddha for the safety of these boys. I would like for us to instead pray to the Lord who not only saves us from our sins but controls the weather too. I am praying that the Lord will use this situation to His glory as a way to reach the lost in Thailand. I read in a CNN news report that one of the boys belongs to the Maesai Grace Church. Their Facebook page has many photos of the church praying for the 13 boys.
Join with Prayer in Every City and the Maesai Grace Church as we pray the Lord will withhold the upcoming rain on Sunday. I am also praying the Lord will stop the flooding so the boys can float out of the cave rather than scuba dive out. Thailand is eleven hours ahead of Eastern Time Zone so if you are awakened in the middle of the night, then pray. 3:00 AM seems to be the time the Lord awakens me at night to pray. This would be 2:00 PM Thailand time, which are peak hours for the rescue operation. Pray any time of day for this situation. The verses I am claiming are as follows:
There is power in united prayer.
