Coffee Devotion Phil. 2:1-13

make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit

Having a morning COFFEE DEVOTION with the Lord is the best way to have a JOYFUL day. Thank you for joining me this morning as we continue to look at Philippians, the book of JOY.

JOY can only come from a relationship with the Lord. Happiness depends on the moment, however, joy can be continuous no matter what our situation. God says that in His presences is fullness of JOY in Psalm 16:11. Let us take a closer look at Philippians chapter 2 to find out how to have this continuous, COMPLETE JOY. Write your answers to the following questions in your journal so you can go back and review them later.

  1. Read Phil. 2:1-13
  2. What is the secret to complete JOY in verse 2? (verses 2-4)
  3. What type of attitude should we have? (verses 5-8)
  4. Why did God exalt Christ?
  5. Who is at work in a believer? (verse 13)

The Apostle Paul is teaching us that our JOY comes as a result of our attitude towards others. If you feel your attitude is not always in the right place, then pray through the list in verses 2-8. If you have sinned in any of these areas, confess each sin to the Lord. After you have confessed each sin, pray that the Lord will give you the opposite trait. We spend so much of our time trying to change ourselves, but we cannot do this on our own. God will change us as we humble ourselves before Him. He is not looking for a perfect heart, but a humble heart.  “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble” James 4:6. If you want complete JOY, then humble yourself as Christ did. God will then change you from the inside out.

I am doing a poll to help me figure out the best time to post this devotion. If you would like for me to continue doing these, please comment below and tell me what time you eat breakfast. I have been posting at 6:00 AM Eastern, which is probably too early. Let me know what you think.

    • I tried to post Facebook and blog at different times this morning, but it didn’t work. I guess the best time to post will be at 6:30 am. I believe the best time for the blog is later. Maybe will figure it all out soon. Glad you are enjoying the devotions.
