10 Bible Prophecies Fulfilled by Jesus’ Birth
1. First prophecy of virgin birth and crucifixion – “And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel” Gen 3:15 (NKJV)
2. Where was Messiah to be born– “But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, From everlasting” Micah 5:2 (NKJV).
3. Messiah to be born of a virgin – “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel” Isaiah 7:14 (NKJV).
4. A Child will be born– “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” Isaiah 9:6 (NKJV).
5. Jesus will go to Egypt – “When Israel was a child, I loved him, And out of Egypt I called My son” Hosea 11:1 (NKJV).
6. Jesus will descend from Isaac and Jacob – “I see Him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near; A Star shall come out of Jacob; A Scepter shall rise out of Israel, And batter the brow of Moab, And destroy all the sons of tumult” Num 24:17 (NKJV).
7. Jesus will be from tribe of Judah – “The scepter shall not depart from Judah” Gen 49:10 (NKJV).
8. Prophecy of John the Baptist and Jesus entering temple– “‘Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming,’ Says the LORD of hosts” Mal 3:1 (NKJV).
9. Jesus descendant of King David – “Behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. 6 In His days Judah will be saved, And Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS” Jer 23:5-6 (NKJV).
10. Because babies were killed by Herod, there was much weeping when Jesus was born – “A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted for her children, Because they are no more” Jer 31:15 (NKJV).
