Does the Lord every put a scripture verse in your head that you can’t forget? Well He has given me Psalm 127:1 this week, so I thought I would share it with you.
I have been in a transition period for sometime now, but that period is almost over. Last fall I gave up my women’s Bible study that I had taught for 8 years, because I knew the Lord wanted me to move on to something new. I have to say that this was a little scary for me, because I had found my comfort zone in teaching Precept Bible studies to many of my friends. We had grown very close, loved debating scripture and prayed over all our problems. What more could a Christian ask for? Well the Lord has other plans for me.
I have had a heart for the Millennial Generation for about a year so I naturally assumed that the Lord was calling me to teach youth. I have two teenagers so I wanted to try to win their friends to the Lord and perhaps help with the mass exodus of young people who leave the church after they graduate after high school.
To make a long story short, God has other plans for me. Rather than prevent the young people from leaving the church, I am going to be working with 20-somethings to try to get those who have left back into church. I think the prevention would have been easier, but I am up for the task. I will begin a new Young Women’s Bible Study this Thursday evening. We will most likely start out small, but I am praying that the Lord will help us to grow and mature so we can bring the Millennial Generation back to church and win the others to Christ. Please pray for me and my awesome helpers as I begin this new work for the Lord. Here is the verse the Lord has given me this week:
“Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain” Psalm 127:1 (NKJV).
Many times in our Christian Ministries, we try to do the work ourselves rather than wait on the Lord’s direction. I plan to approach this new ministry with listening prayer. I want to follow the Lord to see what He is doing so I can give Him all the glory. I have prayed for Revival and Spiritual Awakening for many years. I am praying the Lord will use the Millennial Generation to accomplish what we have not been able to do. I believe the Lord will send the revival through them.
