Do you meet the conditions for answered prayer?

Do you pray?Did you know that God requires us to meet certain condition before He answers prayer?

It’s Memory Verse Monday. We will conclude our Bible study in 1st John this week, so I thought I would close out the study with a verse from there. My favorite Bible verse on prayer is Psalm 66:18, but 1 John 3:22 is a close second. Notice that God says that in order to have answered prayer, you must keep His commandments and do pleasing things.

Memory Verse

“And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight” 1 John 3:22 (NKJV).

If you want to know how the world feels about prayer, then read the comments at the end of an article about prayer on the internet. I always like to read these comments, because I like to know what people are thinking. Many of these people believe that it is foolish to pray, because they feel God doesn’t answer prayer. If only these people understood that God expects us to meet certain conditions before He answers prayer. One of these conditions is to keep His commandments.

If you feel that your prayers never reach the ceiling, then read my blog post, “Does Prayer Really Work?”.

You might also take a look at my Sin List from A-Z. I decided a long time ago that I wanted to have open communication with God at all times. In order to do this, I must keep my sins confessed up-to-date. So I came up with the Sin List from A-Z. I don’t use it everyday, but when I feel that my communication is cut off from the Lord, I read over it and confess every sin I can think of.

  1. So many believers and non-believers see God as a genie that just grants wishes. He’s the Creator and has given us open access to relate to Him. I wish more people would respect Him and treat Him as holy
