10 Bible Verses on the Works of the Holy Spirit

doveMy posts on the Holy Spirit have been very popular. The following are verses which tell of the different works of the Holy Spirit. This is not an exhaustive list, but are a good place to start. If you are feeling studious, you might like to make a list of everything you can learn about the Holy Spirit in the New Testament. This is what is referred to as a topical Bible study. You pick a topic you wish to learn about and then look up all the verses on that topic. By doing this, you will know exactly what the Bible says about a subject. You will then know when you read something that isn’t true. Many people do not understand how the Holy Spirit operates in our lives. My daughter, who is in the 7th grade, had a lesson on the Holy Spirit a few weeks ago in Sunday School. Her teacher told me that none of the girls knew anything about the Holy Spirit except he came into their hearts at salvation. After you have studied the Holy Spirit in the Bible, then teach this to your children and grandchildren.

10 Bible Verses on the Works of the Holy Spirit

Acts 1:8 (NKJV)
But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Romans 8:26 (NKJV)
Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Romans 8:16 (NKJV)
The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

John 16:8 (NKJV)
And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

John 14:26 (NKJV)
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.

1 Corinthians 2:10 (NKJV)
But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

1 Corinthians 2:13 (NKJV)
These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

1 Corinthians 12:7-11 (NKJV)
But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

Galatians 5:16-18 (NKJV)
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

1 Timothy 4:1-3 (NKJV)
Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.
