Week of Spiritual Fitness
For the month of January at Prayer in Every City we are going to focus on Spiritual Renewal. Please take a look at my post from yesterday to see the 10 New Year’s Resolutions we are going to work on for spiritual renewal. In my opinion, the best way to for me to change old habits is to establish a Daily Discipline Schedule. I have been doing this for years with my house cleaning and it works well for me. Perhaps I will even teach you about my laundry and house cleaning schedule. The most important thing to remember about changing old habits, is to do it under the power of the Holy Spirit. You willpower will eventually fade and you will go back to your old habits, but the power of the Holy Spirit can be sustained. This month we will learn how to walk in the Spirit and allow Him to make the long lasting changes needed for Spiritual Renewal. Here is our schedule for the month of January:

Meditations Monday
Please join me daily as I help you to grow in the Lord. Today is Meditations Monday so please try to set aside a time for prayer today. If you are not disciplined in this area, then begin with 5 Minutes of Prayer. Ask the Lord to fill you with His Spirit and help you to focus on Spiritual Renewal. When you pray this week, I want you to focus on yourself. I know this sounds selfish, but God only hears prayers from those who have humbled themselves before him. Take a look at Psalms 66:18 and 2 Chronicles 7:13-14.
Today’s Scripture Memory (Click here for Scripture Memory Printable Cards)Philippians 4:8 (KJV)
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things
are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things
are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things
are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be
any praise, think on these things.
This verse will be out motto for this month. Write it down on a notecard and memorize it during your meals. You will be surprised how easy it is to learn a verse a week in this way. You can have copies in the bathroom, kitchen table and car or type it into your cellphone and it will be with you everywhere you go. If you take a look at the next verse, it is the secret to Spiritual Renewal:
Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Philippians 4:9 (KJV)
Please feel free to leave comments below if you have decided to participate in my Spiritual Renewal plan. Invite your friends to join us or better yet, form a Prayer/Support Group to help motivate each other to learn to walk in a deeper relationship with the Lord. If we want Revival and Spiritual Awakening in America, it must begin with you and me.
Pat yourself on the back because you are about to begin a new walk with the Lord. Nothing else in life will satisfy like a fresh walk with the Lord. I challenge you to persevere.
