Memory Verse Monday – Salvation Verses Week 2

It’s Memory Verse Monday. For the next few weeks, we will be focusing on Salvation and Witnessing. We will memorize a weekly Bible verse, while studying salvation and how to do it from the book of Acts. Last week we worked on Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift from God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”.

This week we will learn another verse about the free gift of salvation.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast” Eph. 2:8-9 (NKJV).

Many people think of Christianity as a religion, but it is not a religion, rather it is a personal relationship with God. Religions require that people do something in order to be saved. The world religions such as Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism require people to earn their salvation. They hope that their good works out weigh their bad works in the hopes of some reward at the end of life. Christianity on the other hand does not require you to do good works for salvation. It is a free gift from God, but it is only available to those who chose to repent of their sins and believe that Jesus was the Son of God, who created all things.

Please take the time to memorize these verses on salvation so you will be ready “in season and out of season” to share your faith.
