Avoid Temptation Tuesday – Hypocrisy
It’s Avoid Temptation Tuesday! We have begun our new series on Witnessing and Salvation. If we wish to be effective in our evangelism efforts, we must practice what we preach. According to Merriam Webster, the definition of hypocrite is a person who claims or pretends to have certain beliefs about what is right but who behaves in a way that disagrees with those beliefs. All of us are hypocrites at different times, but we must try to avoid this at all costs. Even if we don’t believe it, the world is watching every us to see if we live a godly lifestyle. Why would they listen to what we have to say, if we don’t live the lifestyle we preach about?
I have heard many non-believers say that the reason they don’t go to church is because they don’t want to be around “all those hypocrites”. It is difficult to defend the church when this happens, because I know that it is true. I hope that you will take the time to examine your life today so you can witness with your mouth and through your lifestyle.
If you have not had a chance to look at the Sin List from A-Z, then please take a look at it. Before I pray or witness, I like to make sure that my sins are confessed up-to-date.
