Prayer for Millennial Generation

Leaving copy

Did you know that 70% of teens leave the church after they graduate from high school? The Millennial Generation was born from 1980-2000 and only 15% of them have any type of spirituality including Hinduism, Buddhism, or any religion. We need united prayer in our churches across America for this generation of kids. Please consider forming a Prayer in Every City prayer group in your home, place of work or church. If you read the book of Acts, the early church spent much time praying.

This past week I had the honor of praying with a woman from Nigeria. I asked her what she thought of our churches in America. She said that churches in Nigeria spend more time praying than we do. Perhaps this is why Africa has a revival going on. She also taught me much about spiritual warfare. One day I will post on spiritual warfare, but have not felt led to at this time. I will pray about what I should teach on spiritual warfare, because it is strong in America.

My Hope America with Billy Graham will be coming up in November. If you have not heard about this wonderful opportunity to witness to your neighbors, then check out his website: http://myhopewithbillygraham.org/. Billy Graham is one of the last great revivalists that we have had in America. I can remember as a child watching him preach in the great stadiums and then listening to “Just As I Am” play as people streamed down the aisles. He won thousands to the Lord. What has happened to our great revival preachers? I have had the privilege to meet Evelyn Christianson who used to form prayer groups for his crusades before they would come to town. Bertha Smith, a missionary to China, also helped to form prayer groups for Rev. Graham. I pray that Christians will be convicted to form prayer groups and pray for revival and spiritual awakening. If we want to win thousands to the Lord, then we have to do what the revival preachers did. Many believe that these revival message are old fashioned and won’t work on today’s generations, but I believe that they are wrong. God says that He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. Yesterday’s methods will still work today. Perhaps the method of drawing a crowd is different, but the message should remain the same. I have just recently ordered a used copy of Billy Grahams first book published in 1947 called Calling Youth to Christ. I encourage you to find a copy of this book and see how he used to preach to our youth. I believe if preachers would preach like he preached and people would pray like his prayer groups did, then we would see a change in our youth in America.

  1. I know this is the season to spread joy and good tidings but our youth need our prayers daily. Join me in prayer for our future christian leaders.
Paul wrote letters to the church and basically told them what he knew to be true of there congregation. I believe these same letters apply to the church today. We men of today need to step up and remove the objects that are keeping us from our duties as warriors for Christ. I include myself in that I too need to remove them. Pray for me as well. 1 Thessalonians 5:11-14. 1 Corinthians 5:9-10
