Celebration Sunday – Prayers for Protection
This is the 3rd Celebration Sunday on Prayer in Every City. Thank you for allowing me to help you grow in your Spiritual Walk. If you have friends who might be interested in joining us this week, then tell them about my blog. Better yet, form a prayer group and pray for America. This week we will learn how to pray prayers of protection. The hostility towards Christianity is growing in America as well as around the world. I would like to teach you how to stand firm even when life gets tough. Rather than hiding under the covers until the storms pass, we need to learn to stand strong in our faith. The more we understand who God is and understand His love letter to us, the stronger we will be.
Next week I will begin my Bible study on Ephesians where we will learn to Sit, Walk, Stand, and Bow. If you want to strengthen your faith, then please join me as we learn to walk with the Lord.
Have a wonderful, restful day with your families today. Join me tomorrow as we begin to memorize the Word of God. “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” John 8:31-32 (NKJV). I would like to teach you how to abide in the Word so please join me daily as we memorize scripture, confess our sins, study the Word, learn about Heroes of the Faith and pray for Revival and Spiritual Awakening in America. If we can do these things, then we can stand firm in the evil days. Here is my favorite scripture on protection. If you want to have peace, then memorize this chapter in the Bible. My mother used to have us quote this every morning before getting on the bus for school. I am glad that I have hidden these words in my heart.
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” 3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday. 7 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked. 9 Because you have made the LORD, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. 12 In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. 13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot. 14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. 15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.” Psalms 91:1-16 (NKJV)
You may wish to see my post on Psalm 91.
Thank you for the post. I haven’t went to church regularly for a long time and need to start going again. It’s horrible how so many of us put our spirituality on the back burner because we get caught up. I often think to myself that it’s crazy how we focus on all the make belief things we’ve made up like money (for example) and neglect the realest thing there is, God. I need to remember that when I wake up in the morning.
Thanks again and keep up the good work, you’ve reminded me of what my priorities should truly be. God bless!
I hope that you will try my Week of Spiritual Disciplines this week. You can experiment and see if it helps you throughout your week. Let me know if it helps you.
Where can I find more information about that? 🙂
You can click on my tabs at the top. Monday is for scripture memorization, Tuesday is for confession of sin, Wednesday is a Bible study, Thursday is about a Hero of the Faith from the past, Friday is for fasting a safe fast, Saturday is designed to teach you how to pray. Put your hope in Jesus Christ because all else is undependable.
Thanks for the info!
