10 Verses to Pray for Boldness and Courage

Do you ever wonder what you would do if you were to face persecution? Do you feel that you would cower at the knees rather than take a stand for Jesus Christ? Perhaps your fears are not as great as these, but you just don’t have the boldness you need to tell others about Jesus.

The Bible says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind” 2 Tim 1:7 (NKJV).

If we know that we should not fear, but are timid anyway what should we do?
The answer is to pray for the opposite characteristics of fear which are boldness and courage. When the Lord first called me to teach adults, I had a tremendous fear. I had only taught little children and I was afraid I wouldn’t know what to say to adults. I also knew that the Lord wanted me to teach on confession of sin. This is not a very popular subject today. Many pastors do not preach on sin, because of the unpleasant backlash which occurs.

Pray the Boldness Verses
 My father actually gave me the solution to all my fears. He said, “You need to pray the boldness verses”. I had to ask him what the boldness verses were, because I had never heard of them. After looking them up, I began to pray for boldness. Now I am not afraid to stand up and teach against sin. I can even teach against sin on the internet so I promise that this will work, but you will have to have your sins confessed up-to-date.
