1. Lord, help them to be the spiritual leaders of the home.
I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. 1 Cor 11:3 (NKJV)
Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered. 1 Peter 3:7 (NKJV)
2. Lord, help them to study the Bible and to observe all that is in Your Word.
Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Josh 1:7-8 (NKJV)
3. Lord, help them to teach their children to follow the Lord’s instructions.
And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. 7 “You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 “You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 “You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. Deut 6:6-9 (NKJV)
4. Lord, help them to love their wives as Christ loves the church.
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish. 28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. Eph 5:25-29 (NKJV)
5. Lord, help them to not provoke their children to wrath.
Fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but bring them up in the training and admonition of the Lord. Eph 6:4 (NKJV)
6. Lord, help them to walk with integrity.
He who walks with integrity walks securely, Prov 10:9 (NKJV)
7. Lord, help them to have Godly wisdom.
Wisdom is in the sight of him who has understanding,
But the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth. Prov 17:24 (NKJV)
8. Lord, help them to be even-tempered.
He who has knowledge spares his words,
And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit. Prov 17:27 (NKJV)
9. Lord, help them to be strong and courageous.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go. Josh 1:9 (NKJV)
10. Lord, help them to choose to serve You, daily.
And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD. Josh 24:15 (NKJV)
